how all the bad people got so strong
when all my people been down so long

talk about history and you and me
and property protected by society
and somehow you say we’re supposed to be free
but it’s not like we share this stuff equally

cuz your dad was rich and my dad was poor
and whatever they had they both wanted more
i guess that’s why they both went to war
but all this stuff, man what’s it all for?

cuz as long as you’re warm and you’re getting fed
does it really even matter if you’re blue or you’re red
do you really have to care what the other guy said?
is it ever really worth people ending up dead?

i think it all comes back to greed and
thinking something you want is something you need
and somehow that means you can lie and cheat
& it’s okay if the other guy bleeds

cuz your wife needs some new shiny stuff
and even when there’s more it’s never enough
so you’re hoping those arabs will call your bluff
cuz your defense stocks will only go up

but if killing those folks in the middle east
is somehow good for our economy
and they all die for democracy
well what’s that say about you and me?

i say lots of things unpopular at parties
but it don’t matter if you’re serious or arty
there’s people in power and then there’s their patsies
if you follow power blind you end up a nazi

this whole damn place is going down the shitter
cuz greedy white bastards think that they’re better
we should put them out with their military litter
cuz barry obama is just adolf hitler

you’d thinks we’d care about our rights being protected
or the rights of the folks whose lands we’ve dissescted
but the first strike aggression of our evil unelected
says we can kill them all once they’re suspected
